What if you had a button you could push or lever you could throw that could change your mindset in a moment? How powerful would that be? I started this post of Speaking of Excellence with these questions due to some self-reflection. I amazingly found myself being intensely in the moment. While in the middle dealing with challenges that seem to be coming from so many directions, I was at a standstill with finding solutions. Then a feeling of being overwhelmed began to take center stage in my mind. In that moment, I felt closed in from all sides. Have you ever been there? I then reached for a tool, better yet a proven weapon when found in this particular mind frame. Ask yourself a few intentional questions. What are the things I have right now that give me a profound sense of gratitude? How can I be the best husband, friend and man for those around me? The key here is that “Questions trigger the mind? They provide a framework to be present in the moment. In addition, showing gratitude for what you already have in spite of what might be lacking has the power to create that “Magic Moment”. When you say, ” I can do this and If I need some help, I am not too proud to ask for it. ” Get perspective on you challenges and create your own break formula. Remember, YOU are the key to that formula.
